Day and weekend yoga and wellness retreats in the Forest of Dean. 
 
Retreat to the forest for a weekend of yoga and nurture your wellbeing! This retreat is suitable for guests wishing to come on their own, for friends planning a meet up and looking or something different to do or for a special mother/daughter or couple weekend away. 
 
The weekends yoga is most suited to beginners and intermediates. More advanced yoga retreats also available, please message for details. The mornings yoga on this retreat tends to be more dynamic, with a more restorative session in the evenings. 
 
Across the weekend you can expect the following:  
 
Twice daily yoga and meditation practice, incorporating Yin, Hatha and Kundalini, followed by guided meditations. 
Walks around the surrounding 60-acre organic farm down to the River Wye. 
Wholesome vegetarian meals and plenty of snacks and refreshments. The food on our retreats always score a 10 on our retreats, prepared by Tom who is a trained cook with 20 years experience. We Cater for all dietary requirements including vegan, gluten free and nut free and will make sure you are happy with the menu across the weekend. 
An Ayurvedic cookery course – food not only good for the body but the mind too! Course worth £60 alone. 
An evening spent sitting around a warm fire in stimulating conversation with fellow yogis, and having a dip in our natural wood fired hot tub. 
Optional holistic treatments including an Ayuvedic and Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage and Reiki.

Our teacher training course will give you the most authentic and complete yogic training. It is led by Sri Vijay Anand, an Indian yogi, international speaker and visionary teacher for over 30 years. Anand's extensive experience and captivating manner will help you become the best teacher you can be. 
 
You will develop a strong yogic practice, discovering many different techniques and using the ones that are most powerful for you. Your competence in the physical poses or “Asana” will rapidly advance, as will your understanding of how to teach others. 
 
Throughout the course all techniques, methods and philosophy will be taught from the fundamental yogic view point and also the tantra view point. This is a very unique approach that sets this teacher training apart from other courses. This will give you the most complete understanding and the chance to learn ancient techniques you will not find in text books as they are only passed directly to a student from an initiated guru. 
 
You will experience first hand the transforming effect of yoga. Aside from the benefits this will bring to your own health and well-being, this will make you a more confident and knowledgeable teacher for your future students. 
 
It is a demanding course that should not be undertaken lightly. It will take place over 1 weekend per month for ten months and in between each session you will be required to practice and study regularly.  
 
Anand and the rest of Indian Wellness Academy team will be on hand to support you at all times, during and after the course. You will also receive advice and marketing support for promoting your own yoga classes.

This is a very friendly studio located in central Coleford, just off the High Street, dedicated to improving health and lifestyles. 
 
The Studio offers a number of exercise systems aimed at helping participants achieve maximum health; Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong and iMOVEfreely Biomechanics, as well as Traditional Chinese Massage and Health Treatments. 
 
Natalie, our Yoga instructor, has practiced Hatha Yoga since childhood, but as a high level Tai Chi practitioner has also been very fortunate to learn and teach various Chinese Yoga styles, including Yin, Daoist and Shaolin.  
 
Natalie has a BWY Diploma in Teaching Yoga, currently the highest level of Yoga certification available in the UK. This knowledge and experience combine to create a unique yoga experience that brings excellent health benefits. 
 
The Studio offers a number of regular classes; Hatha Yoga Beginners, Hatha Yoga Intermediate, Yoga for Seniors, Seated Yoga, Daoist Yoga, Yoga for Martial Artists, dedicated Meditation and Pranayama sessions and Yoga Hardcore (for those who feel ready to challenge themselves) as well as offering one-to-one or private group sessions. 
 
The courses are tailored around participants needs. All levels of fitness and ability are welcomed. Great emphasis is placed on asana, pranayama and meditation techniques.

Wildwood Yoga classes offer no glitz or glam, just grounded guidance in the Lyengar tradition of Hatha Yoga. 
 
BKS Lyengar’s system is characterised by the practice of Asanas (postures) and Pranayama (conditioned breathing), with emphasis on precision, alignment, planned sequencing, increased timing in poses and the use of props. It is methodical and progressive focusing on detailed correctness and absolute safety. 
 
I offer regular weekly classes in the Forest of Dean and lower Wye Valley and a beginners course that runs every 6 weeks throughout the year. A monthly extended class offers us the opportunity to come together for a particular themed practice and explore postures in more detail. 
 
I am a fully certified Lyengar Yoga teacher and do not mix in other styles or disciplines. 
 
I am committed to maintain the integrity, excellence and high standards that have been demonstrated and emphasised by BKS Lyengar and family.

I have peen practicing yoga for approximately 20 years. In that time, yoga has supported me with health and lifestyle improvements physically, mentally and emotionally. I was keen to share the benefits of yoga with others. 
 
I completed a year long foundation course with the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) and followed that with a three year BWY teaching diploma. I have been teaching classes in and around the Forest of Dean since 2007.  
 
It is rewarding to watch students develop over time, finding a yoga style that suits them, that can be used to support their lives. Students report improved sleep, reduction in stress, better pain management, improved posture, flexibility, mobility and greater strength.
